Narrowboat Fit Out
Carl2020-02-23T14:57:47+00:00Narrowboat fit Out This project has involved fitting out a narrowboat - piping and installing an LPG heating system to keep the owners warm as they enjoy using the boat. LPG is a great option to be installed on a boat and we currently have a small number of clients with narrow boats at marinas in the local area.

Miscellaneous
Carl2020-02-23T14:57:47+00:00Drainage - An old outbuilding and coal shed was being converted into a downstairs Wc cloakroom with wash basin and utility room with a washing machine. No drainage was available but there was a nearby manhole in the garden. This was marked out then trenches were dug to lay the new plastic underground drainage pipe work. This terminated through the side wall of the man hole. New drainage in place ready for back filling. Removal of old square flue - Note: corroded green copper gas pipe on the LHS. Installation of new round flue [...]
Underfloor Heating
Carl2015-03-12T10:35:19+00:00Under Floor Heating (UFH.) Pipe work from the boiler is linked to an UFH manifold. This manifold, linked to controls and thermostats, distributes heating pipe work to each room, normally buried in the screeded or concrete floor. This can also be installed upstairs . Benefits of UFH are, it frees up wall space for furniture as there are no radiators and the room is heated from the floor upward.
Condensate pipe upgrade
Carl2015-03-13T09:54:20+00:00Condensate pipe upgrade This ¾” pipe is passing through the wall ‘horizontally’ and because of this, the water lying in this section of pipe was prone to freezing up in cold weather. This, in turn causes the boiler to ‘lock out’! A larger (1 ¼” pipe) was installed; this penetrated the wall at a ‘downhill’ angle to keep the condensate water constantly ‘falling’ as it leaves the boiler and heads towards the drain. Note: the access cap on the top end of the tee piece. Finally, “Armaflex” external grade pipe [...]
